Extended Education: Eat Your Weeds! A medicinal and edible approach to weeding your garden.

The focus of this class is to learn what weeds you have growing in your garden and how you can eat and use them medicinally. Bring in your weeds and we will identify them and discuss how they can be used in your kitchen or medicine cabinet! We will look at and discuss the plants brought in as well as other common garden weeds and talk about how to harvest, prepare and store your medicinal plants. Instructor Laura Cascardi has been working hands on with plants from an herbal and botanical perspective since 1998. She graduated from The Rocky Mountain Center for Botanical Studies in 2001 as a certified herbalist and has an undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Botany from Colorado State University and is currently working as a Botanical Herbalist at Golden Poppy Herbal Apothecary
