Learn the steps of setting up a successful food-producing garden! From site selection to soil amending, irrigation, and layout considerations, we will untangle the mysteries keeping you from creating a thriving and productive garden and teach you the fundamentals of setting your garden up for success. Walk away with the knowledge you need to get your vegetable garden in the ground and get growing!

Andrea Vanderbilt is a CSU alum with over 6 years of experience in the horticulture industry.

She is the founder and owner of Teach Me To Grow, a horticulture company that specializes in the design and maintenance of edible gardens and landscapes in urban environments and in garden education. She is passionate about the varied benefits of growing food in a backyard setting and she lives to see more people growing their own food by providing support and education for new gardeners in a fun, engaging way! Her favorite crop to grow is tomatoes and she believes that kale is the #1 superfood
