Stress-Free, Beautiful Gardens with Plant Select®

by Pat Hayward

Stop battling the elements and learn to embrace gardening in the High Plains! Plant Select® is here to help you discover dozens of incredibly beautiful garden plants that thrive with less water, little care, and are adapted to our native climate and conditions. Learn how to select, design with, and care for a palette of groundcovers, perennials, shrubs and trees, selected for their durability and unique beauty.

Since 1997, Plant Select® has recommended and introduced new and underutilized plants for gardeners and landscape professionals in the High Plains and Intermountain regions. These plants are discovered, developed, and trialed through collaboration with Colorado State University, Denver Botanic Gardens, and growers from the region. This workshop will introduce you to the winning selections, and help you discover the tricks to a beautiful, low-water garden or landscape.

A life-long outdoor enthusiast, Pat Hayward has been professionally involved in Colorado horticulture for nearly 30 years. She has co-authored two books, and her horticultural writings have been published in numerous national and regional publications. She is currently the Executive Director of Plant Select®. She and husband, Joel, live and garden on four acres in Masonville.

Winter Workshops are held at Fort Collins Nursery, 2121 E. Mulberry St.
