To sign up for the waiting list\, please click on registration link below and then click on the “Get Tickets” link on the ticketing page.\n  \nNew Waterwise Plants for Colorado’s Changing Climate – SOLD OUT\nPresented by Ross Shrigley\nDetails: \n\nDate: Saturday\, January 14\nDoors: 9:15 am\nClass: 9:30 am – 11:00 am\nTickets: $18\nFood & drinks will not be provided but you are welcome to bring your own.\n\n  \nCourse Description: \nJoin us as we explore exciting new Plant Select® selections and what’s up and coming for the Rocky Mountain region\, from perennials to shrubs and trees. Plant Select® is a nonprofit collaboration of Colorado State University\, Denver Botanic Gardens and professional horticulturists. \n  \nPresented by Ross Shrigley: \nRoss’s passion for horticulture and gardening began at Colorado State University. He earned his Biological Science degree in 1994 and went on to purchase a small gardening business that he ran and operated for seven years. In 2004\, Ross spent time in the field as a groundskeeper for the CSU Facilities Department. He then jumped over to Denver Botanic Gardens where he managed the O’Fallon Perennial Border\, Dwarf Conifer Berm\, Ornamental Grass Garden\, and the Mordecai Children’s Garden. Ross organized and managed volunteers and worked hard becoming a Senior Horticulturist for his seven years at DBG. In 2012\, the long daily commute took its toll\, and Ross accepted a position closer to home with Fort Collins Wholesale Nursery serving as their Outside Sales Representative. In 2022\, Ross is a seasoned gardener with a breadth and depth of experience in the world of horticulture. He now serves as the Executive Director of Plant Select®-  a nonprofit collaboration of Colorado State University\, Denver Botanic Gardens\, and professional horticulturists. Additional certifications that round out Ross’s portfolio include becoming an Irrigation Auditor in 2005\, a CNGA Certified Nursery Professional #652\, and\, most recently\, earning his Sustainable Landscape Management Certification through ALCC in 2019. Ross innovates and sees where applications are needed and even invents new garden industry tools like his RAINcane watering wand\, which is still in circulation today. The company provides design\, consultation\, pruning and maintenance services to create beautiful\, four season interest\, water conserving landscapes. She loves working with nature and the energy of space to create landscapes that are functional\, aesthetically pleasing and uplifting to those who view or spend time in them. Robyn is an artist\, educator\, writer and plant advocate. Join Alison O’Connor from the CSU Extension to learn more about how you can manage this insect in both the lawn and landscape. Alison will discuss management strategies and provide a list of plants that don’t appeal to Japanese beetles. \n  \nPresented by Alison O’Connor: \nAlison Stoven O’Connor is the Colorado State University Extension horticulture agent in Larimer County. She’s been with Extension for eighteen years. Alison coordinates the Larimer County Master Gardener program and assists homeowners and industry with horticultural questions. She attended Iowa State University and The Ohio State University\, majoring in horticulture\, and completed her Ph.D. at Colorado State University in 2014\, studying nursery tree production and landscape establishment.
