Delivery Driver
Part-Time. $17-$20 per hour.
Position Summary
The Delivery Driver is responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of plant material and related products to wholesale customers. This position plays a key role in representing Fort Collins Nursery in a professional manner while supporting operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and the broader goals of the wholesale program. The role may also include assisting with order preparation, loading/unloading, and basic vehicle upkeep. This role exemplifies the Unifying Principles.
Essential Functions
- Pull, organize, and load product in preparation for deliveries.
- Safely operate company delivery vehicles to transport plant material and supplies to wholesale customers across designated routes.
- Load and unload orders accurately and securely, ensuring plant health and product quality during transit.
- Provide courteous and professional service during all customer interactions, maintaining a positive relationship with wholesale clients.
- Verify delivery documentation, including invoices and delivery receipts, and obtain proper signatures.
- Assist with order staging and organization prior to deliveries to ensure route efficiency and accuracy.
- Support the wholesale operation in identifying improvements to delivery operations and customer satisfaction.
- Perform basic maintenance checks on vehicles (fuel, tire pressure, cleanliness) and report any issues promptly.
- Follow all company safety protocols and DOT regulations to ensure compliance and safety.
- Provide support as needed in the production or shipping areas during non-delivery hours.
- Support inventory management including, but not limited to, data entry and physical count of inventory.
- All other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Strong level of independence; support of team and ability to work independently required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities effectively required.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills required.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills required.
- Ability to anticipate customer needs and recommend appropriate products required.
- Weekend availability/flexibility required. May require overtime during busy season.
- Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles required.
- Bilingual a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL not required, but preferred for larger vehicle operation) required.
- Previous experience with delivery driving, logistics, or customer service preferred.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly, and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
- Comfortable working in varying outdoor conditions (heat, cold, rain).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Familiarity with plant material is a plus, but training will be provided.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL not required but a plus).
- Minimum 1 year of delivery driving experience preferred.
- Previous experience in a nursery, greenhouse, landscaping, or agriculture-related setting is helpful but not required.
- Experience with customer service and order handling is a plus.
- Familiarity with plant material is helpful, but training will be provided.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the retail space.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday.
- Must be able to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to climb in and out of vehicles, and handle repetitive motion such as loading/unloading.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, rain, and cold.
- Capable of handling extended periods of driving, often with frequent stops.

Horticultural Production Team Member (Seasonal)
This role will report to Mulberry and Ault location as business requires, with a $2/hour pay increase for time spent at Ault location.
The Horticultural Production Team Member will be responsible for assisting in the production and care of the over 50,000 plants that Fort Collins Nursery grows annually. Employees in this position will be required to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions as they assist with production, receiving, and general maintenance processes.
Position Responsibilities:
- Propagation: Assist in the propagation of plants through seed sowing, cuttings, and division.
- Planting: Participate in the planting and transplanting of a variety of plants according to established guidelines.
- Cultivation: Perform cultivation tasks such as weeding, watering, and pruning.
- Monitor plant health including identifying and reporting pests, diseases, and nutritional deficiencies.
- Watering: Assist with watering plant material on a regular basis.
- Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and tracking plant growth stages.
- Assist in the unloading of plant shipments and check-in processes.
- Assist in stocking retail nursery plants as required.
- General Maintenance: Contribute to the overall cleanliness and organization of production areas.
- Operate and maintain horticultural equipment and machinery while ensuring they are in proper working condition.
- Assist with ground maintenance and light facility repairs as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to accomplish daily tasks in support of Production department goals and ensure efficient workflows.
- Ensure established safety procedures are followed and maintains a clean and organized work environment.
- Participate in training programs and stay up to date on horticultural best practices and overall industry trends.
