$12.50Bonsai Basics
Presented by Dr. Darrell Whitley
- Date: March 6th, 2 – 3pm
- Class Level: Beginner – Intermediate
- Cost: $12.50
- Location: Virtual class hosted by Zoom Webinars
Course Description
This workshop will focus on using easy-to-find nursery plants to create Bonsai. For indoor plants, ficus are a great choice while traditional species such as pines, junipers and spruces must be grown outdoors year round. The workshop will cover soil mix, how to select material, and basic techniques such as wiring and pruning. It will also explain root pruning, which is a necessary first step to prepare a nursery plant for a bonsai pot. Finally, the workshop will explain bonsai design, and how to make a small tree look like an ancient giant of the forest in miniature.
Presented by Dr. Darrell Whitley
