Growing in Northern Colorado – for Newcomers & Transplants

January 27, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

$18

Course Description:

The challenges of gardening at altitude in a semi-arid climate that’s prone to wild temperature swings and extremes can be daunting, especially for those who are new to the region.  But there are advantages and opportunities too. Instead of trying to recreate the gardens of your former home, embrace the Rocky Mountain West!  Create gardens in tune with your environment. Learn about xeriscape and growing beautiful, well-adapted plants in the right places, as well as building soil to grow delicious food in the veggie garden.

Presented by Jane Shellenberger:

Jane Shellenberger was once a transplant from the East Coast.  She has been the Publisher & Editor of Colorado Gardener newsmagazine for 20 years, and is the author of Organic Gardeners Companion, Growing Vegetables in the West.

Experience Level: Beginner-Intermediate
