Micro-Farming: Big Food, Small Spaces

Course Description:

Boost productivity in the urban vegetable garden by learning to utilize techniques used by commercial farmers! Find more production in a healthier garden ecosystem by applying basic principles of large-scale production farming to your residential garden space. We’ll show you how! Topics range from automating irrigation and smart plant placement to employing season extension and crop planning worksheets. This class applies to everybody, from beginners to advanced gardeners.

Presented by Andrea Vanderbilt:

Andrea Vanderbilt is a CSU alum with over 6 years of experience in the horticulture industry. She is the founder and owner of Teach Me To Grow, a horticulture company that specializes in the design and maintenance of edible gardens and landscapes in urban environments and in garden education. She is passionate about the varied benefits of growing food in a backyard setting and she lives to see more people growing their own food by providing support and education for new gardeners in a fun, engaging way! Her favorite crop to grow is tomatoes and she believes that kale is the #1 superfood
