Course Description:
This course covers techniques for formal or informal espalier pruning and teaches you how to avoid common mistakes. You’ll learn why peaches and plums do better with fan or open center forms, why apples and pears can do any shape, and how espalier works with the biology of fruit trees. This class is for home gardeners, educators, professionals and anyone interested in learning the art of espalier.
Presented by Mason Vollmer:
Mason Vollmer is a retired Waldorf high school science and gardening teacher. Author of Growing Gardens – Growing People volume 1: Creating the Great School Garden and volume 2: The Community Nursery as an Inclusive Social Enterprise.
