Beautiful & Beneficial Native Plants for Your Garden

Presented by Pat Hayward

  • Date: Feb. 13th, 11:15 – 12:15pm
  • Class Level: Beginner – Intermediate
  • Cost: $12.50
  • Location: Virtual class hosted by Zoom Webinars

Course Description

This program is geared toward gardeners interested in learning how to create a garden landscape with plants that are beautiful, easy to care for, and well-adapted to our front range conditions. Focusing on plants native to the west, we’ll explore some of the top performers that provide year-round interest and benefits for both people and pollinators.  We’ll also touch on basic cultural conditions and clear up some common misconceptions and questions most often asked about growing native plants.

Presented by Pay Hayward

With degrees in horticulture and forestry, Pat has worked in many facets of Colorado horticulture for over 40 years. A two-time winner of the Colorado Nursery & Greenhouse Association Person of the Year award, she recently retired as director of Plant Select, a plant introduction program through Colorado State University and Denver Botanic Gardens. Her certified National Wildlife Habitat gardens in Masonville are filled with hundreds of low-water and native plants.
