Día de los Muertos

Didn’t quite get all your spookies out on Halloween, eh? If you were looking for an excuse to delay
taking those decorations down, you’re in luck- November 2nd is Día de los Muertos, which is “The Day of
the Dead” in Mexico. On this day we remember and celebrate the lives of those loved ones around us
who have passed onto the next stage of existence, whatever that may be. While most of us are vaguely
familiar with the holiday as we’ve seen it displayed in the media with things like sugar skulls or the
movie “Coco”, you can celebrate in any way you wish that honors your family. Typical activities to
celebrate include making your loved ones favorite foods, and I don’t know about you but I’ll take any
excuse to eat more food- even if it speeds up my journey to join my ancestors…
