Presented by Tessie Walters & Andrea Work:

Tessie Walters is the Head of Gardening and Chief Horticulturist for Blue Spruce Horticulture and has been gardening and landscaping in Colorado for over 15 years. After studying horticulture at Front Range Community College she spent 2 seasons working at Denver Botanic Gardens before moving to Fort Collins. Tessie has taken Native Plant Master classes and is constantly quizzing the rest of the team on botanical latin. Tessie hopes to inspire others through sustainable horticulture and promote water conservation and habitat restoration in Colorado. Outside of work, Tessie enjoys learning about plants and fungi and foraging edible mushrooms.

Andrea Work originally hails from the land of Penn’s Woods, she is a true horticulturist and an entrepreneur. On the Blue Spruce team she helps out in the garden maintenance division and is also helping to develop their permaculture and vegetable gardening capacities. After displaying an ethos of respect and care for the environment, Andrea was asked to become their Director of Sustainability. In this role she keeps a constant eye on all facets of the business, analyzing and implementing ways in which the company can stay true to their values. Outside of work Andrea stays busy outdoors, growing, creating, and adventuring.
