Course Description

This comprehensive workshop covers everything one needs to know to successfully grow vegetables in the front range.  Topics include site selection, soil and irrigation needs, pests & diseases, season extension, how to read and understand seed packets, trellising, pruning, mulching, vegetable selection, harvesting, and other helpful tips.

Presented by Jon Weiss

Jon Weiss holds degrees in botany & plant sciences from the University of Wyoming and a master’s degree in horticulture from Virginia Tech.  He worked for two vegetable seed companies breeding tomato, onion, and carrot varieties.  Jon is also a Larimer County Master Gardener and has given talks about vegetable gardening to various groups in the area.
